Youth is a powerful motive force for the country’s development. In order to further promote the communication between teachers and graduates, as well as to learn about the thinking and demands of young people, the graduate representatives symposium was held successfully by Cares for the Next Generation Working Committee of School of Mathematics on June 7. Yang Zeshen, director of the working committee and other committees, Han Xu, deputy secretary of School of Mathematics, teacher representatives and graduate representatives attended the symposium.
First of all, Han Xu on behalf of School of Mathematics expressed the sincere thanks to the attended committee members for their hard working, and he also pointed out that the teachers who have rich working experience all are the important guides for young people on the way of their growing up.
Yang Zeshen said that the Chinese Economic Reform and Open Up has created many opportunities for the young generation. In recent years, the development of national education has made a rapid progress that provides a good prospect for the development of students. We all believe that the graduates from Tianjin University will become outstanding talents in all fields in the future under such circumstances. In addition, he put forward the following four suggestions for the graduates which are gong to graduate in July 2018:
1. Do more practical work to serve our country as well as help to realize the Chinese Dream with the good tradition of preciseness, honesty and dedication of Tianjin University;
2. Pay attention to the accumulation of work experience and to develop the ability of thinking things independently in the new environment with new requirements, new career plans ans new goals;
3. Fully applying the professional knowledge of mathematics which you have gained in university to your work;
4. Be polite, friendly and positive to handle the problems you encountered in right ways.
After that, several students had an in-deep exchange with teachers about the practical problems they faced in study and work. Teachers shared their own work and study experience and suggestions on the questions and puzzles asked by students.
After the symposium, the students once again visit the History Museum of Tianjin University to review the developing history of Tianjin University to enhance their self-confidence of Tianjin University, self-confidence of School of Mathematics, self-confidence of Mathematics and the self-confidence of themselves. We sincerely hope that every graduate from the School of Mathematics can become a patriotic, inspirational, truthful and hard-working youth in the new era.
