In 2020, 16 projects were approved by the National Natural Science foundation of China (NSFC) of the scholars from the School of Mathematics, including 4 projects for youth scholars and 12 general projects. In 2018, 2 projects of professor Sun Xiaotao and professor Wang Fengyu were approved as key projects respectively by NSFC. In 2019, the Center for Applied Mathematics of Tianjin became one of the first group to build the National Center for Applied Mathematics approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Peoples’ Republic of China.

In recent years, the School of Mathematics has issued a series of reform measures to develop itself according to the mathematics discipline rules, including personnel system reform, research platform building and good academic atmosphere constructing. In our school, teachers are encouraged to conduct high-quality research diligently and make more fundamental research. At present, it has formed a good situation that outstanding talents lead, young scholars stand out and excellent achievements havest.
