In this talk, we will discuss Robinson's equivariant Pieri rule for partial flag manifolds of Lie type A. We will show how to decude a neat Pieri rule for the special case of complex Grassmannians combinatorically, and how to reprove these rules in a geometric way. This is based on my joint works with Yongdong Huang, Vijay Ravikumar, Frank Sottile, and Mingzhi Yang.
