1952 Department of Mathematics, Tianjin University merged into the Department of Mathematics of Nankai University.

1959 Applied Mathematics Major was reconstructed.

1979 Began to recruit the undergraduates of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.

1983 Department of Mathematics, Tianjin University was founded.

1993 The Master Degree Program of Applied Mathematics was approved.

1997 Became a part of the School of Science, Tianjin University.

1998 The Master Degree Program of Operational Research & Controlling was approved.

2001 Nankai University & Tianjin University Liu Hui Applied Mathematics Center was founded.

2003 The Master Degree Program of Fundamental Mathematics was approved.

2012 Center for Applied Mathematics, Tianjin University was founded.

2016 School of Mathematics, Tianjin University was founded.
